Questions people ask
- Filtered or unfiltered, which one do I want?
- Filtered if you're pouring candles or making anything that goes on skin. The bits left in unfiltered wax mess with how a candle burns and won't blend smooth in a balm. Unfiltered is fine for furniture polish, waxed canvas and woodwork, where a bit of hive in it doesn't matter.
- Why is there a line at 25 pounds?
- Under 25 pounds I filter it by hand, and that's $10 a pound. At 25 pounds and up it goes out as unfiltered blocks at $8 a pound. The difference in price is the filtering.
- How much do I need?
- One pound fills roughly four 4 oz candles, three 6 oz, or two 8 oz, and it's worth planning for five to ten percent loss. If you're planning something bigger, text me and we'll work out how much.
- Do you ship wax?
- No. Local pickup only, same as everything else.
